On the tennis front, Roberta Bautista Agut's amazing run of form continues and he’s through to the quarter finals at Rotterdam after beating Vesely from a set down on Thursday. With Gasquet withdrawing pre-tournament, Bautista now has another great chance to make his third final of the season. Eighth seed Victor Troicki is also in a rich vein of form and at the time of writing had also reached the quarter final. He’s drawn to meet Bautista Agut in the semi-finals, which would be a repeat of last week's Sofia final.

Second seed Marin Cilic is through to the quarter finals and faces a tricky one against Kohlschreiber today, which I see going to three sets or maybe two tight ones possibly tie breaks. Cilic is on course to face either Monfils, Simon or Zverev in the semi-finals and with the second seed having such a poor record at Rotterdam (only made one final last in the decade) hopefully Simon can be the one to benefit and make the final.

Over in Memphis top-seed and hot favourite Nishikori is still on track to win a record fourth straight title and top-seed and defending champion Nadal is still on track to defend his Buenos Aires title.
