A Bad Week For The Offshore Bookmakers.

A terrible week for the big Offshore bookmakers.

The week began with an expose by the Sunday Times which said that greyhounds were suffering as a result of the big bookmakers refusing to fund BAGS racing even though they benefitted by over £200million a year from betting on it.

Far worse to come. Yesterday the Government shocked the racing world by announcing that they were going to replace the levy next year with a tax on all betting including offshore internet bookmaking. A devastating blow for Ladbrokes and Corals and Betfred who spent many millions relocating in Gibraltar.
