The Premier League returns this weekend after the break for International Friendlies and with eight games tomorrow and two on Super Sunday there will be plenty of talking points come Monday. Leaders Leicester are five points clear at the top and face a tricky one against Southampton at the King Power on Super Sunday. If they lose they could find themselves only two points clear if Spurs pick up three points against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
Leicester are favourites to beat Southampton, but the Saint’s will be no pushovers as they are still in with a chance of qualifying for Europe and will have no qualms about putting a dent in the Foxes title winning dreams. The same goes for Liverpool, who are more than capable of halting Spurs title ambitions, especially in front of a passionate home crowd. Also, history is not on Spurs side in this fixture as they’ve only won one of their last 21 Premier League games at Anfield.
Down at the bottom of the Premier League there are massive games for Sunderland, Newcastle and Norwich on Saturday. Sunderland face the Baggies at the Stadium of Light and with the Baggies Premier League survival assured and with nothing left to play for Sunderland are more than capable of picking up a very valuable three points. Newcastle face a much tougher trip to Carrow Road and nothing but a win will do for the Magpies. However, even if they do win and Sunderland lose the Magpies could still be in the relegation zone level on Points with the Canaries, who currently have a better goal difference.
