Jordan Spieth and Chris Wood were last weekend’s winners and it’s fair to say that not many will have that as a winning double. Spieth was easy enough to find but Wood has been in and out with only average placings in his last ten tournaments. Anyone who did back him was relying on him coming back to the form of his fourth place finish in the event last year. Spieth has put behind him his Masters meltdown and is almost metronomic in the way that he approaches events. He will be a big challenge to Jason Day and Rory over the summer and it should be a joy to watch three young players battling out at the peak of their games.

In Europe this week we move to Sweden and The Nordea Masters which is again played in Stockholm having been in Malmo. Alex Noren won last year but also won here in Stockholm in 2011 so it would be dangerous to ignore him. Home favourite Henrik Stenson is favourite but has been out of form and Lee Westwood, also a past winner here is a better option. Mikko Illonen is also a past winner and needs to be considered at a big price along with a player in decent form Romain Wattel.

In the States we move on to The Memorial, where the three big names clash. In my opinion it is better to enjoy the golf of the three rather than bet and personally I will be a Layer of the three at a combined price of around 13/8 as none of them have won this before. The Swede David Lingmerth won last year but would be a shock winner in the form that he finds himself in. There are plenty of others with chances including Hideki Matsuyama who won in 2014. I am convinced Mark Leishman will come good sooner rather than later and at 80/1, last year’s fifth place finish can be bettered. Add the Scotsman Russell Knox at a big price too for ew bets.
