The women’s quarter-finals were completed at Wimbledon yesterday and there were no major surprises with top seed Serena and Sister Venus seeded 8 knocking out Pavlyuchenkova and Shvedova in straight sets. Fourth seed Kerber proved too strong for fifth seed Halep progressing in straight sets while Vesnina, who has been the biggest surprise of the women’s tournament so far, continued her great form knocking out Cibulkova in straight sets.

The semi-finals will be played on Thursday between Serena and Vesnina and Venus and Kerber, and it looks like we may get a repeat of this year’s Australian Open final between Serena and Kerber. However, don’t rule out a first final between the William’s sisters since 2009 as the last few encounters between Kerber and Venus were extremely close and if Venus does record her third victory against Kerber tomorrow, it will be a remarkable feat considering her health and injury problems in recent years and age.

It’s the men’s quarter-finals today and Andy Murray (Advised at 9/2 for the tournament) is now the odds on favourite to win Wimbledon and considering is form at present, head-to-head record against today’s quarter-final opponent Tsonga and recent record against potential semi-final opponents Berdych and Pouille, I advise waiting until Sunday before considering cashing out for a guaranteed profit.

My other outright selection Marin Cilic (Advised to win the Second Quarter at 8/1 and also 140.0 on the exchanges for the tournament now 25/1) faces seven time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer for a place in Friday’s semi-finals. Federer leads the head-to-head 5-1 and with Centre Court being his backyard he will be extremely difficult to beat today. However, both of their encounters at Grand Slams were at the US Open, Federer won the first in four sets back in 2011 and Cilic won the last at the semi-final stage in straight sets, going on to win the title.

This will definitely be Federer’s toughest test to date and with Cilic looking like he’s returning to the level of form that won him the US Open in 2014 it would not be a surprise if Cilic caused the upset today. If you have backed Cilic to Win the Second Quarter, or on the exchanges to win the tournament, I would suggest cashing out now for a guaranteed profit if you believe Federer will win, or if like me you think this match will be a lot closer than the odds suggest waiting and looking to cash out in play if Cilic goes a set-up or 2-1 ahead.

The two other quarter-finals today between Querrey and Raonic and Berdych and Pouille both look more open than the odds suggest, and I would advise laying Raonic (1.3) and Berdych (1.25) on the exchanges and cashing out for a profit if there price doubles.
