Chelsea were well and truly outplayed in the Champions League against Roma last night losing 3-0, but Manchester United moved a step closer to qualifying for the group stage after they defeated Benfica 2-0 at Old Trafford. There were big shocks with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid failing to win against minnows Olympiakos and Qarabag and Juventus also failed to win at away at Sporting in Portugal.
Tonight’s Champions League action sees Spurs face defending champions Real Madrid at Wembley and after drawing the first leg and with Madrid struggling it looks like a good time to oppose the Spanish giants. Liverpool should see off Maribor at Anfield, but Manchester City face a much stiffer task away at Napoli and they could experience their first defeat of the season tonight.
