The Betfair Card at Newbury dominates this weekend's racing with the richest handicap hurdle in Europe and two group 2 chases.

There has been an almighty gamble on the Willie Mullins/ JP McManus horse Blazer who has been gambled on from 10/1 to 7/2 this week with Barry Geraghty jumping off the previous ante post favourite Modus. Affaire De Honoure has also been well supported.

My two against the field are Modus who has been targetted at this race all season and Sternrubin. I am in Tenerife at the moment as is Sternrubin's owner Terry Warner - I know that he is backing his horse who is unbeaten this season.

Reigning champion Dodging Bullets returns in the Betfair Exchange Stakes but I won't be backing him at odds on.

The Denman chase is also substandard - Rocky Creek will be difficult to beat.
