Faugheen Out Of Champion Hurdle

Just after 1pm yesterday a seismic shock wave went through the Cheltenham Festival betting markets when it was announced that last year's Champion Hurdle winner Faugheen who was 1/4 to repeat the feat this year.

His withdrawal coincided with a successful return to action by Annie Power - she is expected to be redirected to the Champion Hurdle now.

It looks like Willie Mullins will have the first three in the revised Champion Hurdle betting but will probably be without a credible challenger in the World Hurdle.
