Golf

Adam Scott won the Honda by a shot from Sergio Garcia as weather conditions made the course tough for all the players. Scott was the steadier down the straight than Sergio and deserved his 12th PGA victory and will now be a major player at Augusta. Graeme McDowell showed a welcome return to form with four solid rounds to finish fifth. None of the players we mentioned played well and should probably be left alone until we see a return to form.

In Australia, Louis Oosthuizen was successful by a shot from Alexander Levy with five Frenchmen finishing in the top fourteen. None of the Brits challenged and despite his victory being by just the one shot, Oosthuizen never really looked in trouble and this follows the victory of Charl Schwartzel showing how strong golf is in South Africa at present.

This week there is just one tournament bringing together players from both tours in the WGC Cadillac at Trump National Doral in Florida. Last year Dustin Johnson was the victor as he saw off JB Holmes and Bubba with Adam Scott back in fourth and Louis Oosthuizen in sixth. Top European was Henrik Stenson and he could be challenging again this week. Two sporting selections to consider each way are Ryan Moore and Brooks Koepka who played well here last year. Those of you who like past winners should look at Dustin, Patrick Reed, Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson who have all won here before.

WGC Cadillac Championship

Rory McIlroy 10/1, Bubba Watson 12/1, Dustin Johnson 12/1, Jordan Spieth 12/1, Adam Scott 14/1,

Jason Day 14/1, Rickie Fowler 16/1, Justin Rose 25/1 Henrik Stenson 25/1
