Tennis

We came very close to having all three of this week’s Indian Wells tennis selections reach the quarter-finals yesterday, however, good fortune was not on our side on this occasion as both Stan Wawrinka and John Isner lost extremely close three set matches on third set tie breaks against Goffin and Nishikori respectively.

All is not lost however, as our one remaining selection Milos Raonic is still in action and at the time of writing was scheduled to play 13 seed Gael Monfils for a place in the semi-finals in the early hours of this morning.

One result we can confirm is that 15 seed David Goffin is through to the semi-finals after taking out another big scalp in 2014 US Open Champion Marin Cilic last night. Goffin has definitely exceeded all expectations this week and after a great run in the Davis Cup last year it’s great to see him finally produce that type of form at this level on the main tour.
