Horse Racing

I am going to dedicate today's blog to the incredible finale to the National Hunt season at Sandown.

Let me start by paying tribute to Richard Johnson , this season's champion jockey ,who has well and truly stepped out of Tony McCoy's shadow, winning the title by a massive margin with over 230 winners.

The rest belongs to the epic duel between Paul Nicholls and Willie Mullins for the UK Trainers title.

2 weeks ago after a massive Cheltenham, Willie Mullins had a lead of over £100,000 and was 10/1 on.

Then Paul Nicholls won the Scottish Grand National and three other valuable races on last Saturday's Ayr Card.

Today, Nicholls is 4to 6 and has launched a mass raid on Sandown attempting to counteract the better class entries from Mullins. Here is how today could go.

2.20 - looks between the contenders. I prefer Nicholls runner Tommy Silver

2.55 take Mullins to level the score with Valseur de Lido who could be the banker of the day.

3.35 the likely decider. Mullins will gain the lead if Un De Sceaux can turn round Cheltenham form with Sprinter Sacre - a big task.

4.10 I cannot see either of the contenders going close in the Betfair Gold Cup.

4.40 Vroum Vroum Mag v three Nicholls contenders in the stayers hurdle.

5.20 Three Nicholls contenders with a chance. I like As du Mee.

5.55 A fantastic finale with 4 Nicholls and 3 Mullins entries for the closing handicap hurdle.

Overall I think the odds are about right and Nicholls can gain yet another title.

Boom! If you backed my Perth nap Double Whammy yesterday - he annihilated the opposition at 9/2.

Boom Boom if you are on KSTIPS Twitter - Mardale given as a banker bet at 4/1

Why don't you use your loaf and spend just £25 of your winnings and join KSTIPS today till the end of April.

You will get my bet for the Bet 365 Gold Cup which has halved in price since I gave it to members earlier in the week.

You will also receive all KSTIPS multiple bets ( usually 3-4 per week) yesterday we landed a lucky 15 bet which paid over £1600 per £30 staked. Several clients e mailed me to say they won over £10, 000 on the day.
