A good week for my tennis match betting selections after the 4-fold/Lucky-15 I advised on Monday (Dodig, Cervantes, Carreno-Busta and Kyle Edmunds) landed comfortably at 10.5/1, while the bet on Illy Marchenko to beat Lucas Pouille was void as Pouille withdrew from the tournament.
Our three tournament selections this week Kohlschreiber at Munich (10/1), Simon at Estoril (5/1) and Dzuhmur at Istanbul (14/1) are all still running and through to the quarter finals. With second seed Monfils withdrawing at Munich Kohlschreiber’s chances of reaching the final have improved, but he faces a potentially tough one against Del Potro today.
Del Potro leads the head-to-head 6-0 with their last meeting coming at Shanghai on hard courts back in 2013. Kohlschreiber has a better chance of recording his first win against Del Potro today on current form and the layers have him as the clear favourite at around 4/6. However, it’s still worth covering the bet on Kohlschreiber by backing Del Potro at around 13/9 just to be safe.
Dzuhmur at Istanbul faces Schwartzman today and as they’ve never played before it’s a tricky one to call, but if Dzumhur plays like he did at Monte Carlo recently he’ll be very difficult to beat and I’m quietly confident he will prevail. Finally, at Estoril Simon faces the talented young Spaniard Carreno-Busta for the first time and if Simon can play near to his best level I am confident he will feature in Saturday’s semi-finals.
