Matthew Fitzpatrick won his second European Tour title when taking The Nordea Masters in Sweden. He held his nerve to win by three shots from Lasse Jensen and a resurgent Nicolas Colsaerts. Lee Westwood managed eight place but could never get in a position to challenge. Once again it was a case of someone we tipped a few weeks ago coming to the fore.

This week the European Tour moves to Austria where recent BMW winner Chris Wood defends his title. He is one of the favourites along with Austrian Bernd Wiesberger and past winner Joost Luiten around about 8/1. There is a big chance one of those will win but for more value consider Paul Dunne and Gregory Bourdy.

In America we had a thrilling finish to “Jack’s tournament” The Memorial where 36 year old William McGirt won his maiden PGA title in a play-off from Jon Curran, who was also looking for his first win. Many players challenged in the final round and Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar are in great form leading into next week’s US Open.

This week we have the FeDex St Jude Classic in Memphis which Fabian Gomez won last year. Dustin is favourite and the way he is playing if he can get his putter hot then he will take some beating. Phil Mickelson is always dangerous here and Gary Woodland played well enough last week to have a shout at around 25/1.
