Germany Defeat Italy on Penalties

Germany made it 6 winning penalty shoot outs in a row to defeat Italy in last night's quarter final. Not before a series of amazing misses however in one of the worst shoot outs ever. Italy twice had the opportunity to score and win but failed and Germany progressed on their second opportunity after Schweinsteiger had blazed the ball miles over the Italian goal on the first opportunity.

Host nation France play outsiders Iceland in the last of the quarter finals. No one can rule out a shock victory after Iceland's win over England and Wales' defeat of Belgium.
