England confirmed Sam Allardyce's appointment as their next manager yesterday.

Steve Bruce resigned from newly promoted Hull starting speculation he may be Allardyce's successor at Sunderland.

On the transfer front George Wijnaldum became the third big name to leave Newcastle- signing for Liverpool for £25 million.
