Great Britain failed to defend their Davis Cup title after losing to Argentina in Glasgow last week. The tie got off to the worst start imaginable for GB as Andy Murray and Kyle Edmunds lost their crucial singles rubbers on Friday against Del Potro and Pella respectively. They fought back admirably levelling the tie at two-all after the Murray brothers won the doubles on Saturday and Andy Murray won the third singles rubber on Sunday. However, Edmunds replacement Dan Evans could not round off what would have been an historic come from behind win as he failed to beat the experienced Leonardo Mayer, who replaced Del Potro, losing in four sets.
Argentina will now face Croatia in the final on November 25th after they knocked out France in a thrilling tie 3-2 and Marin Cilic was the hero for the home nation winning both his singles rubbers and also the doubles with Ivan Dodig.
