Football

There’s little in the way of English domestic football action in the build up to Christmas however, there’s plenty of European and Scottish action over the next few days for those looking to find some opportunities to ease the festive expenses. Tonight’s action includes one League One and one second round FA Cup replay match. The League One action is a mid-table London derby clash between Millwall and Charlton Athletic at the Den, and the FA Cup replay action is between Newport and Plymouth at Rodney Parade in South Wales.

In Europe there are five Bundesliga and a full set of French Ligue One fixtures tonight and the feature game is in the Bundesliga between joint league leaders Bayern Munich, and the surprise package of the season so far RB Leipzig, at the Allianz Arena. Both teams are tied on 36 points, they have an identical matches won, lost and drawn record of W13, D3 and L1 and Bayern lead by goal difference.

Bayern have the best home record in the league so far this season winning six and drawing two, while RB Leipzig have the best away record in the league so far this season winning five, drawing two and losing one. Bayern have averaged 2.9 goals per game and conceded on average less than a goal per game at home in the league this season, while RB Leipzig averaged 2.1 goals per game and conceded on average less than a goal per game away in the league this season.

From a betting perspective Both Teams to Score appeals as three of Bayern’s four league home games against top half teams this season ended with this occurring, as did three of RB Leipzig’s four league away games against top half teams this season. If you are looking for a better return the Full Time Result and Both Teams to Score Draw & Yes outcome also appeals based on the above statistics.
