Barcelona were dealt a huge blow to their aspirations of winning this year’s Champions League last night as they were thrashed 4-0 in the first leg of their last-16 knockout stage encounter in Paris against PSG. It proved to be a disappointing night for favourite backers in the competition as Borussia Dortmund also lost 1-0 at Benfica.

Tonight’s Champion Leagues fixtures feature Bayern Munich at home to Arsenal and defending champions Real Madrid host Napoli at the Santiago Bernabeu. Bayern won three and drew one of their five Champions League home games Arsenal, whose only win was 2-0 back in March 2013 and the drew 1-1 with them the following season.

Bayern are comfortably leading the Bundesliga and while they are not the force of old they should still be too good for Arsenal on their own patch. Arsenal have scored in the last four corresponding Champions League fixtures and with that in mind backing Both Teams to Score ‘Yes’ or if you’re looking for a better return Bayern Munich to win and Both Teams to Score ‘Yes’ match double both appeal.

La Liga leaders Madrid host Napoli for the second time in Europe’s premier competition and Madrid won their European Cup encounter 2-0 back in 1987. This is the 20th consecutive season in which Real Madrid have made it to the Champions League knockout stages and they’ve reached the semi-finals in each of the last six seasons, while Napoli have never made it past this stage.

This will be Real Madrid’s first competitive match since the winter break and it’s unlikely it will be an easy evening for them as Napoli are undefeated since last October and they have the advantage of playing competitively since the 7th January.
