The big guns and remaining seeds get their Indian Wells campaigns underway this weekend and top-seed Andy Murray faces Canadian qualifier Pospisil for the fifth time today. The world number one leads the head-to-head 4-0 and the world number one should progress without too much drama having never dropped a set against Pospisil. Third seed Wawrinka starts his campaign today against veteran Lorenzi and while the Swiss number one should progress too the third round i wouldn’t be getting heavily involved at short odds after his disappointing first round loss at Dubai recently.
Seventh seed Tsonga (40/1) kicks off his campaign today against Fognini and with Tsonga leading their head-to-head 4-0 he should also make the third round without too much trouble today. Eight seed Dominic Thiem (40/1) faces Chardy for the first time today and the young Austrian should be too strong for the inconsistent Frenchman. 2016 semi-finalist and 11th seed Goffin starts his campaign today and faces the big serving Next Gen star Khachanov for the first time and this has the potential to be a highly entertaining encounter if both players bring their A game.
Some of the other seeds who get their campaigns underway today are tenth seed Monfils who faces qualifier King for the first time, 13th seed Berdych who faces Wild Card Fratangelo for the second time, 16th seed Bautista Agut who faces Mannarino for sixth time and 20th seed Isner who plays Lucky Loser Kukushkin for the third time. From a match betting/trading perspective there is a double I like involving Klizan and the inform Dolgopolov, which pays around 3.3, and I also think favourites Isner (1.2) and 19th seed Karlovic (1.6) are worth opposing at the odds as their form has been patchy so far this season.
