Manchester City missed the opportunity to overtake Liverpool in third yesterday after leading twice but only managing a 2-2 draw against an out of form Arsenal at the Emirates. Swansea and Middlesbrough also missed the opportunity to improve their Premier League survival chances as they played out a goalless draw against each other at the Liberty Stadium.

The Premier League returns with a full set of midweek fixtures on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and there is four matches on Tuesday featuring Manchester United against Everton at Old Trafford and six matches on Wednesday featuring the encounter of the week between leaders Chelsea, who will need to bounce back from their shock home defeat against Crystal Palace at the weekend, and fourth place Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
