Cricket – ICC Champions Trophy
Final
India V Pakistan
Venue – Kia oval, London
Start – 10.30 (BST), Sunday 18th June
Exchange prices – India (1.5), Pakistan (3.0)
Weather – Dry, sunny and very hot (30 degrees Centigrade, 86 Fahrenheit).
One of the good aspects of this competition is that it lasts just 18 days so there is no time for it to get stale. Hence after just 18 days we are down to the final and it is the mouthwatering clash between the two old sub-continental enemies, India and Pakistan. One thing is for certain, the Oval will be packed to the rafters and the TV audience will be massive (that might actually be two things!).
Interestingly, every match since the 8th June has been won by the team batting second so it will be fascinating to see what the winner of the toss chooses to do. Pakistan do have an excellent bowling attack and look much more comfortable when chasing while India’s one defeat has been when they batted first.
India already have a result against Pakistan in this competition but I feel that Pakistan have improved with every match and were very impressive against an England side that were at the top of their game at the time. So in a tight final, a win bet on Pakistan looks the value.
