This week’s ATP tennis action at the Rogers Cup Masters 1000 Series in Montreal Canada is now down to the second round stage and so far the likes of 11th seed Carreno-Busta,12th Bautista Agut, 16th seed Kyrgios and unseeded players like Del Potro, Gasquet and Monfils have all progressed past the first round while the likes of 13th seed Pouille, 14th seed Isner and the unseeded Lopez and Britain’s Kyle Edmunds were all upset and knocked out in the first round. The big guns like top-seed Nadal, tournament favourite and second seed Federer, third seed Thiem, fourth seed and Washington champion Zverev and fifth seed and Washington finalist Nishikori all get their campaigns underway tonight and they all should progress to the third round, except Nishikori (1.50) who faces a tough ask against Monfils and did not look anywhere near his best or fully fit at Washington last week so may struggle to win tonight.
