The majority of the seeded players at the Paris Masters get their campaigns underway today including top-seed Nadal who faces NextGen star Chung for the second time having won their first encounter at Barcelona this year in straight sets. Third Seed Cilic also starts his campaign against qualifier and compatriot Coric and Cilic should progress as he leads the head-to-head 5-0. Fourth seed Zverev gets his campaign underway against Haase and the German should progress as he leads the head-to-head 2-0 and is the hot favourite.

Sixth Seed Dimitrov faces home hope and veteran Gasquet and this one could go the way of the Frenchman as he’s playing well and leads the head-to-head 5-2. Seventh seed Goffin also faces a Frenchman the unseeded Mannarino and the Belgian number one should progress to the third round as he leads the head-to-head 3-0.

Eighth seed Carreno-Busta and tenth seed Querrey are both out, ninth seed and 2016 finalist Isner faces Schwartzman (80/1) for the first time and eleventh seed Tsonga faces compatriot Benneteau, who is approaching the end of his career. Anderson seeded 12 faces fellow veteran Verdasco (advised 150/1) and this one should go the way of the Spaniard as he leads the head-to-head 4-3 and Anderson has really struggled since reaching the US Open final. Del Potro who is seeded 13 faces qualifier Sousa and there could be an upset as Del Potro(1.14) has been playing non-stop for the last two weeks.

He won Stockholm then reached the final at Basel on Sunday so could struggle to last physically today. Bautista Agut seeded 14 (1.34) faces Chardy and the Frenchman leads the head-to-head 2-1 and is capable of causing the upset. Sock seeded 16 faces Britain’s Kyle Edmund and the Brit won their only encounter and may repeat that win today as Sock’s form has not been great this year. Finally, Vienna winner and 17th seed Pouille faces veteran Lopez for the fourth time and the Frenchman leads the head-to-head 2-1.
