Australia made a strong start in the fourth test of the Ashes. They won the toss, opted to bat and by the end of play had amounted 244 runs for the loss of only three wickets with Warner not out on 103 and ominously captain and Ashes top-run scorer Smith not out on 50. England are going to need an inspired session with the ball today, then with the bat if they do miraculously manage to bowl the Aussies out. However, on the evidence so far this looks highly unlikely and it looks like England are heading for another timid disappointing 5-0 Ashes whitewash.
