Arsenal ended Crystal Place’s eight match unbeaten run last night at Selhurst Park in the Premier League and the defeat left Palace in the thick of the relegation battle on 18 points. The Gunners win meant they drew level with rivals Spurs on 37 points and fifth place. The festive domestic football action continues this evening with two Championship games featuring third place Cardiff against ninth placed Preston at the Cardiff City stadium and a London Derby and bottom of the table clash between Millwall and QPR at the Den. Cardiff have numerous injury troubles at present and lost their last two league games, including being thumped by Fulham at home at the weekend 4-2. Preston are unbeaten in their last eight overall, last four away from home and are worth siding with tonight either by opposing Cardiff on the exchanges or backing them on the handicap. The derby between Millwall and QPR is likely to be a fiercely contested encounter and with little separating the teams in terms of league position I expect this will play out in the match which should end in a draw.
