Waiting Patiently Wins An Emotional Betfair Gold Cup At Ascot

On Thursday we had the funeral of hugely popular Northern Trainer; Malcolm Jefferson.

Yesterday his star horse Waiting Patiently paid his own tribute by winning the Category One Betfair Cup At Ascot, under a fine ride by Brian Hughes.

Across at Haydock, Grand National favourite Blaklion got bogged down in the mud at Haydock and was well beaten by Yala Enki.

In Ireland, Our Duke put himself firmly in the Gold Cup picture by giving Presenting Percy 7lb and a beating.
