Manchester United failed to build on their impressive home win against Liverpool at the weekend when they crashed out of the Champions League last night losing against Sevilla 2-1 at Old Trafford. Aston Villa also missed a great chance to close the gap on second-placed Cardiff in the Championship last night as they were thrashed 3-1 at home against mid-table QPR.

Chelsea will attempt to join Liverpool and Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final tonight when they travel to Barcelona with the tie finally balanced at 1-1. Barcelona are of course strong favourites and should progress to the quarter-finals however, Chelsea are unbeaten in their last four Champions League ties at the Camp Nou, they have nothing to lose and the Champions League is there one remaining chance to restore some pride after a disappointing season by their lofty standards.
