There were no FA Cup upsets on Saturday as Spurs and Manchester proved too good for Swansea and Brighton, winning 0-3 and 2-0 respectively. On Sunday Southampton and Chelsea made it a clean sweep for Premier League clubs in the FA Cup after they defeated Wigan 0-2 and Leicester City 1-2 after extra-time respectively.
In the Premier League on Saturday, Bournemouth added to West Brom’s woes when they came from 1-0 down to snatch a late 2-1 win thanks to Stanislav’s 89th minute rocket free-kick. Crystal Palace boosted their survival hopes after their impressive 2-0 win away at fellow relegation threatened Huddersfield and Stoke remained in the relegation zone after their 2-1 home defeat against Everton. Finally, Liverpool, who were the only top-six side in action this weekend, swept aside mid-table Watford 5-0 at Anfield on Saturday, and star man Mo Salah considerably boosted his chances of landing the Golden Boot award in the process with a match-winning four goal hall. His four-goal hall moved him four ahead of main challenger Kane, who is likely to miss the rest of the season after picking up an ankle injury.
