All the first-round matches at the Miami Masters 1000 Series involving unseeded players should be complete by the time you read this article and the second-round matches involving seeded players get underway this afternoon. Second-seed Cilic (advised 20/1) gets his campaign underway against Frenchman Herbert and hopefully Cilic can repeat his Pune 2018 straight sets win. Indian Wells champion and sixth seed Del Potro gets his campaign underway against Haase and Del Potro should prevail as he’s had five days to recover from his Indian Wells exploits and he leads the head-to-head 4-0. Third-seed Dimitrov will look to improve on his second-round exit at Indian Wells and he faces German Marterer for the first time today.
Seventh-seed Goffin (advised 33/1) opens his account against Souza and the Belgian should progress without too much trouble as he leads the head-to-head 4-1. Six-time Miami champion and ninth-seed Djokovic also gets his campaign underway today and he faces a tricky encounter against the enigmatic Paire from France, who has been in good form so far this season. Raonic (advised 13/2 to win Third Quarter) who is seeded twenty this week faces Swedish NextGen talent Ymer today, who received a Wild Card this week and twelfth-seed Bautista Agut faces a tricky opener against one of North America’s many NextGen stars, Michael Mmoh, who looked impressive qualifying for the main draw and winning his opener against compatriot Eubanks.
Britain’s Liam Brady and Cameron Norrie both qualified for the main draw and Broady won his first-round encounter in impressive fashion against American qualifier Fratangelo, but Norrie lost his first-round match against the talented Jarry from Chile. From a betting perspective this could be a good time to oppose Nishikori from a trading perspective as he’s not played much competitive tennis so far this year which suggests he’s still not 100% fit. He faces a potentially tough opponent in qualifier Millman, who impressed in qualifying and raised his level to come from a set down to beat the talented Gojowczyk in the first-round.
