Three winners for Willie Mullins including the Gold Cup at Punchestown yesterday appear to give him the edge over Gordon Elliott in the mega battle for the Irish Trainers Championship.

He is still behind in terms of prize money won but has a very strong hand in the Stayers Hurdle today and Footpad will be strongly fancied in the Novices chase.

Paul Townend recovered some pride with two winners including a great ride on Next Destination.
