Bookies Bonanza at Punchestown

One of the biggest betting races for a long time inIreland turned into a bookies bonanza when Samcro and Melon both fell at the third last hurdle in yesterday’s Irish Champion Hurdle.

This left Supasundae to win the race and win his second Champion Hurdle of the season.

If you followed my advice and backed Bleu Berry each way at 100/1 you were paid out third if you bet with Betfair otherwise I am afraid that you were robbed by the late non runner reducing the field to 7 runners.

An amazing week at Punchestown ended with Willie Mullins overcoming a half million deficit at the beginning of the week to become Champion Trainer and Katie Walsh announcing her retirement from the saddle. Surely her brother will follow suit soon.

Apples Jade can give Gordon Elliott some much needed consolation by winning the Mares Hurdle today.

Over in the Uk Philip Hobbs can also gain some consolation for an awful season by winning the 365 Cup with Rock The Casbah.
