Middlesbrough made a rampant start to their Championship midweek game against Sheffield Utd at the Riverside last night going three nil up within thirty minutes thanks to strikes from Braithwaite, Flint and Downing. Surprisingly this is how the result stayed and Boro boss Pulis will have been very happy with the manner of the win while the Blades look like the could be fighting relegation all season if things don’t improve quickly. West Brom came very close to losing their opening two games last night against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground but an eighty seventh minute equaliser from Phillips saved the Baggies and cost Forest three points and second place.
