After the 2 weeks international break the top-flight domestic Premier League and EFL Championship football returns along with lower Leagues One and Two. The action kicks off tonight with the traditional Friday Championship AND it’s a top of the table clash between sixth place Sheffield Wednesday and fourth place Middlesbrough at Hillsborough. Neither teams form is that impressive so far overall this season but both have only lost two of their last ten respective home and away games and including heir league positions it should be a close fought game.

The majority of the last ten corresponding fix give the edge to Sheffield Wednesday who son six of the last ten but Boro won the last two most recent encounters 2-1 and last season 3-1. Goals also featured in most both team’s respective home and league games this season and the best bets looked to be back Both Teams to Score, Over 2.5 goals or the combined in a match double.

In the Premier league we are treated to a potential top quality lunchtime clash between Manchester United and Chelsea at Old Trafford and on current form Chelsea will be expected to win this one. History is on their side having won seven of the last ten corresponding fixtures and United have not beaten them at Stamford bridge since October 2012. Sixth place Bournemouth have made a strong start to their Premier League season and they face struggling Southampton who are in the bottom six at Dean Court and I expect this to be a hardly fought, low close encounter which the Cherries should win like they have done for most of the time this season.

League leaders Manchester City have been handed a good chance to maintain their 2 point lead at the top against Burnley who they have a good corresponding record against at home winning five of the last eight corresponding encounters and not surprisingly there were plenty of goals in many of these matches. A Man City win and Both Teams to score or Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals match doubles both look like bets with a decent chance of landing given past corresponding encounters and both teams corresponding respective home and away games this season.

There’s an interesting bottom six of the table clash between second bottom Cardiff and sixth from bottom Fulham tomorrow at the Cardiff City table and with both teams desperate to pick up more points it should produce a high tension and hard fought encounter. Cardiff don’t have a great record home against Fulham and are yet to win a league game this season losing three and drawing one. Fulham have been playing some good football so far this season but like Cardiff they are struggling to score goals and both teams have conceded double the goals they’ve scored so far this season but past corresponding matches between two have produced goals most of the time and I think a Draw, Over 2.5 Goals or BTTS and Over 2.5 Goals Match Double bets are worth considering.

Second bottom Newcastle United who have lost their first four home games of the season could get their best chance of picking up there first three points of the season against thirteenth place Brighton today. However, Newcastle don’t have a great record against Brighton at home and with the mood of the fans and club at present sounding toxic Rafa is really going to have to earn his money today if he does not want to extend the winless run to thirteen today. Brighton are steadily improving as the season progresses and have played well both when they’ve won of course but also have played well in defeat as well and I think they may leave Newcastle with a least a point given the mood and form at Newcastle at present.

Seventh place Wolves and ninth place Watford have both made great starts to the season and this will be there first ever encounter in the Premier League, which should be cracker at Molineux tomorrow. Wolves are unbeaten at home in the league so far this season winning two and drawing two, and they haven’t been beaten there since January 2018. Watford have won, drawn and lost one away in the league this season and they’ve only won one of their last ten league away games overall. There last ten corresponding encounters have all been close producing seven draws and with both teams being evenly matched so far this season I would not be surprised if they produced their eighth draw today.

Selections:

Double (3.2)

Chelsea Win vs. Manchester United

Brentford Win vs. Bristol City

Manchester City Win vs. Burnley & BTTS Match Double (2/1)
