Liverpool suffered a shock defeat in the Champions League last night against Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) 2-0 at the Stadion Rajko Mitić, Belgrade and their striker Pavkov was their star-man netting both first-half goals. Liverpool’s group is one of the toughest in the competition and they are now joint top with Napoli, who came from a goal down to snatch a point at home against third place PSG. With only two points separating top and bottom in Liverpool’s group it looks like it may go down to the last round of matches to decide the winner and runner up places.

Spurs recorded their first win of the competition at Wembley coming from behind to beat PSV 2-1 and their star striker Harry Kane came to the rescue at with two late goals in the last ten minutes of normal time and his winner came just as normal time was ending. The win puts Spurs back in with an outside chance of progressing from their group, but they are three points behind Inter and seven behind Barcelona, which still makes their task of reaching the knockout stage tough.

Both Manchester clubs are in action tonight and City should have little trouble in beating Shakhtar at the Etihad after they beat them 4-0 in the reverse fixture, but United face a much tougher task away at Juventus and a draw would be a great result for United against one of the best teams in the tournament.
