Football

Another big night in the Champions League last as the super clubs and multiple winners Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester City all won their respective groups and progress to the knockout stages, which commence in 2019. Bayern’s group runners Ajax qualified for the knockout stages as did Roma who finished runners up to Juventus.

The latter stages of this seasons Champions League tonight and there’s a host of potentially big matches and significant outcomes in terms of winning their league, qualifying for the play off places and teams finishing third enter the Europa League. In Group A Dortmund and Atletico both have home advantage against Bruges and Monaco, they’re level on nine points and Dortmund have the advantage of winning the group as they have a superior goal difference over Atletico.

Theres a huge Group D decider clash between Porto FC, who lead the visitors Shalke by two points and the question will be will Shalke go for the three points to land their Group or play it safe and settle for second place and the play offs. In the group of death Group C, European giants Liverpool, Napoli and PSG will fight out for group winner, runner up and third place. Napoli a clear favourite as they face Red Str Belgrade at home and the Reds have the uphill task of taking on French giants PSG in their back-yard and if they lose the will be relegated to The Europa League.

Selections:
