The first rounds at this week’s three ATP Tour tournaments at Montpellier, Sofia and Cordoba should be completed today, the second round also commences today and it’s when the top four seeds join the action. At Montpellier Paire (advised 33/1) won his opening match in straight sets and faces the unseeded veteran and former top-10 star Berdych next up. Fourth seed Simon (advised 12/1) is due to face compatriot and fellow veteran, Wild Card Tsonga in his opening match while top seed Pouille (advised 5/1) will face the winner of the Baghdatis and Lucky Loser Bemelmans match.

At Sofia there’s already been a couple of high profile upsets as fifth seed Basilashvili lost to veteran German qualifier Brands in the first round and former top ten star and Grand Slam winner Wawrinka also lost in the first round against 2018 finalist Copil. Third seed Medvedev (advised 7/1) starts his campaign today or tomorrow against veteran Haase who’s unseeded and fourth seed Bautista Agut (advised 6/1) is due to face veteran Aussie Ebden who’s unseeded.

At the time of writing the first round action at Cordoba was due to be completed late in the early hours of this morning and there’s already been a couple of high profile upsets. Fifth seed up and coming star Jarry from Chile lost against outsider and Wild Card Londero from Argentina and British number two Cam Norrie was also upset, crashing out against little known qualifier Cachin from Argentina. Due to the time delay between Argentina and the UK I’ll provide a more in depth report on Cordoba in Friday’s article when the quarter finals line-up should be known.
