It looks like its going to be another hectic and action packed weekend of domestic Premier League and EFL football league action and tonight ‘s EFL Championship opener between two former Premier League clubs, current leaders Norwich who are in rampant form and sitting pretty at the top of the EFL Championship table eight points clear of Marcelo Bielsa Leeds.
The Canaries are really hitting form at the right time, they’re two points clear of second place Leeds United and another three points tonight will do their automatic promotion hoped wonders. From a betting perspective there should be goals based on statistic and Over 3.5 Goals should be a safe one, BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals Match Double usually lands in the majority of there games.
Moving on to Saturday and the opening Premier League game at lunchtime is between Crystal Palace and Brighton at Selhurst Park and if Zaha, Townsend and Batshuayi all play a part I see a repeat of last seasons high scoring win for Palace. From the 3pmkick-offs there’s plenty of relegation teams in action like third from bottom Cardiff against West Ham at the City stadium, rock bottom Huddersfield are also at home against Bournemouth who have one of the worst away records in the league this season and on that basis I’m happy to oppose the Cherries.
Second from bottom Fulham face a tough trip to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium but there’s also pressure on the Leicester players and new manager Brendan Rogers as the majority of fans would class any but a win against the leagues whipping boys would be viewed as a major concern. Two other clubs in the midst of the relegation battle playing this afternoon are Newcastle United against the Toffees at St James Park.
The final 3pmgame is between fourth from bottom Southampton and third place, high flyers Spurs at St Mary’s, which is sure to be a fiercely contested encounter like many before it. Southampton already have home advantage, they didn’t play in Europe mid-week like Spurs and that could tell in the latter half of the game if the Saints can keep the score-line close. However, one major bonus for Spurs is there captain fantasticis back and scoring already. From a betting perspective Kane has to be worth following as if he gets on a role he can easily fire in 8-15 goals in a short space of time.
Finally, The Match of the Day is of course the tea time kick-off between leaders by one point and reigning Premier League champions Manchester City against high flying Watford at the Etihad . This should be a high-tempo technically gifted end-to-end affair with plenty of goals and finally, will the jinx of City missing influential midfielder Fernandhino cost them a four point lead if they lose tomorrow and Liverpool win
