After City won on Saturday and overtook Liverpool at the top of the Premier League the pressure was straight back on the Reds and they responded well with a performance we have become a more accustomed to this season, with a comprehensive 4-2 win against Burnley at Anfield yesterday. After a baron spell and some criticism, forward Firminho answered any critics with a brace and Mane added to his impressive tally of 16 this season.
In the other two Super Sunday games Arsenal came out on top after inflicting Ole Gunners Solskaers first league defeat of the season and second in total 2-0 at the Emirates while Chelsea’s bizarre and inconsistent season continued under Italian manger Biesla as they could only manage a 1-1 draw at home against high flying Wolves. The win for Arsenal was significant as it moved them within a point of fourth place Spurs, two points clear of fifth place Manchester United and three clears of sixth place Chelsea who have a game in hand over the rest of the to-six.
