There have been plenty of big shocks and upsets at the first MSTERS 1000 Series at Indian Wells over the last week but the biggest by far was top-seed Djokovic crashing out in straight sets against the unseeded German veteran in the second round.
This blew the top-half of the draw wide open and Thursday’s quarter finals will include two seeds I’ve tipped recently thirteenth seed Raonic who faces Lucky Loser Serb Keckmanovic for the first time and veteran Frenchman seeded eighteenth faces a potentially tougher task against seventh seed Thiem who he’s never beaten in their five previous encounters.
The bottom half of the draw looks set for a blockbuster semi-final against second seed Nadal who faces twelfth seed Khachanov for the sixth time and the Russian has lost six times in a row and fourth seed Federer faces surprise package unseeded Hurkacz from Poland.
