Both ATP 250 tournaments at Marrakech and Houston will be down to the second-round stage by end of play tomorrow and there’s already been some upsets and surprise results. At Marrakech fifth seed Djere crashed out against Italian NextGen qualifier Sonego in straight sets and the young Italian is worth following this week from a tournament and/or match betting perspective as he has good momentum from qualifying and is a future top-class player on the red dirt.

Sixth seed Spanish veteran Verdasco was a big surprise losing against compatriot qualifier and veteran Menedez-Maceiras. The top four seeds all won their first-round matches including top-seed Zverev, British number one and third seed Edmunds and fourth seed French veteran Simon. At Houston two seeds also lost in the fist round fifth seed American Fritz against veteran Spanish journeyman Granollers and seventh seed Aussie Thompson lost against Serb qualifier Krstin.
