It’s quarter finals day at the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 Series and top-seed Djokovic and second seed and eleven-time champion Nadal are both still on course to meet in Sunday’s final. Nadal has looked the more impressive reaching this stage winning both his matches in straight sets for the loss of just seven games. Nadal faces the in-form Pella for a place in the semi-finals and Nadal should progress as he beat Pella in there last two meetings.
Djokovic faces tenth seed Medvedev for a place in tomorrows semi-finals and Djokovvic should progress if he plays anywhere near his best as he leads the head-to-head 3-0. The other two quarter finals are between the unseeded Lajovic and this week’s surprise package NextGen star Sonego from Italy who are playing each other for the first time and finally ninth seed Coric faces Italian number one Fognini and the Italian leads the head-to-head 1-0 but is surprisingly the outsider of the two.
