It’s quarter finals day on the ATP Tour at the ATP 500 at Barcelona and ATP 250 event at Budapest. At Barcelona defending champion and top-seed Nadal is still on track to win a record twelfth title and he’ll need to beat little known German Struff who is experiencing his best season on tour for some years and this is the first time they’ve met on the ATP Tour.

he other top-half of the draw quarter final is between third seed Thiem (10/1) who has been in decent form and he faces the unseeded Pella and this will be their fifth meeting on the main ATP Tour and the head-to-head stands at 2-2 and Thiem won the last two both on clay last season. The quarter finals from the bottom half of the draw are between two-time champion Nishikori and Spanish Lucky Poser Carballes Baene and seventh seed Medvedev (25/1) against Lucky Loser Jarry from Chile.

At Budapest top-seed Cilic crashed out yesterday against unseeded veteran Cuevas in a tight three set encounter and Cuevas faces unseeded Italian Berrettini (25/1) for the first time. The other top half quarter final is between two of the remaining seeded players fourth seed Basilashvili and fifth seed Djere and Djere won there only encounter on clay last season in straight sets.

The bottom half of the draw quarter finals are between Wild Card home hope Balazs and unseeded French doubles specialist Herbert and qualifier Krajinovic (10/1) faces second seed Coric who just scraped past veteran Hasse in a tough three set match in his opening match yesterday and Coric won their only meeting on the ATP Tour at this year’s Australian Open in four sets.
