A big Bank Holiday weekend ahead for EFL domestic lower league football as its play-off finals time at Wembley starting tomorrow with the League Two final between Newport County and Tranmere. On Sunday there’s a repeat of the classic 1998 play-off final between Charlton and Sunderland that Charlton won on penalties after the game ended tied at 4-4 after extra-time and if Sunday’s match produces half of that historic game’s excitement and drama where in for a real treat. Finally, the big one the EFL Championship play off final between two former Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Derby County takes place on Bank Holiday Monday and the rewards and riches awaiting the winner are huge in terms of status and financially.
