Yesterday was qualifying day for next weeks US Open in the UK and USA.

At Walton Heath 14 players who hadn’t qualified automatically played 36 holes. Some of the lucky 14 were D Burmeister , S Horsfield and T Pieters whilst over in the US J Vegas, L Donald and R Sabbatini made it into the event!! Luke Donald once the world no1 and Ryder cup stalwart for Europe has been in the golfing wilderness for nearly 5 years, I believe back problems and swing changes were the cause but he is now playing pain free and has been high up the leaderboard recently, he’s likely to win before much longer where length of the tee isn’t paramount, no selections today but back tomorrow with thoughts and selections in Canada and Portugal.
