Hosts Portugal are through to the final of the UEFA Nations League after beating Switzerland 3-1 in the Estádio do Dragão in Porto last night and superstar Juventus striker Ronaldo was their hero again with a superb hat-trick. He scored the opener midway through the first half; Switzerland levelled the match early in the second half via the penalty spot and it looked like the match was heading into extra time when out of nowhere Ronaldo netted a brace in the last two minutes of normal time.

The other semi-final takes place tonight at 19:45 at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimaraes between old foes the Netherlands and England and with both teams in form and likely to give some of their star players a place in the starting eleven it should be a competitive and entertaining affair. In terms of previous head-to-head encounters, it’s all square with six wins a piece and nine draws and the bookies make England marginal favourites to win tonight and reach the final.

The Netherlands have only lost two of their last ten matches in all competitions against Germany and World Cup holders France while England last lost in this competition 2-1 away against Spain last September and they were also beaten by Croatia and Belgium at the 2018 World Cup. Many of the previous encounters between the two featured goals and from a betting perspective, I think that trend will continue tonight with two or three goals likely to be scored.
