A busy weekend of domestic Premier League and EFL football came to an end yesterday and Sheffield United rounded off a good weekend for the promoted teams in the Premier League beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at Brammall Lane, this follows Norwich’s impressive 3-0 win against a woeful Newcastle United and striker Pukki’s first Premier League hat-trick for the Canaries. Chelsea’s winless start to the season continued under new manager Frank Lampard yesterday as they failed to build on a 1-0 lead against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge, who snatched a second-half equaliser and the game ended in stalemate 1-1.
There’s live Monday night Premier League football action tonight between Wolves and Manchester United at Molineux and Wolves will aim to build on their good record against the Red Devils at Molineux having won three of the last four and last two in all competitions. The last two head-to-heads at Molineux ended 2-1 and with both teams likely to go for the win and attack I expect a similar outcome again tonight so backing Both Teams to Score ‘Yes’ or BTTS ‘Yes’ and Over 2.5 Goals Match Double should go close to returning a profit.
Down in the EFL Championship relegated Huddersfield’s woes continued at the weekend as they were beaten 2-1 by relegated Fulham at the Kirklees on Friday night and their manager Jan Siewert became the first Championship manager to lose his job as a result. The EFL action continues Tuesday and Wednesday night with five Championship games and a full set of League One and Two fixtures tomorrow night and seven EFL Championship games on Wednesday night.
