The US Open almost missed a whole day’s play on Wednesday but thanks to the new roof a handful of matches were completed and the remainder of the second-round matches were completed yesterday and this morning. The big three of Djokovic, Nadal and Federer are all still in action, but there are concerns over Djokovic’s chances of defending his title as he had a shoulder injury/problem during his second-round win against Londero and we will get a better idea of how serious it is in his third-round match against unseeded American Kudla tomorrow morning.
Third seed Federer made another slow start in his second-round match against Dzumhur when he lost the first set again while second seed Nadal (advised @ 10/3) received a bonus as his second-round opponent Aussie Kokkanakis withdrew pre-match. Federer is in action again tonight against British number two Dan Evans while Nadal gets an extra day’s rest and is action tomorrow or Sunday morning against the unseeded NextGen star Chung who is on the comeback trail from injury.
