More surprise results at the US Open as third seed and five-time champion Roger Federer’s title challenge came to an end in the early hours of this morning against former top-ten star Dimitrov, who is the only remaining unseeded player left in the men’s draw. Dimitrov will face fifth seed Medvedev (advised @ 14/1) on Friday for a place in Sunday’s final, which will be both players first Grand Slam final.

The other semi-final line-up will be known by tomorrow morning as the two quarter-finals from the bottom half of the draw take place tonight and tomorrow morning. Second seed Nadal (advised @10/3) faces twentieth seed Schwartzman and Nadal leads the head-to-head 7-0. Thirteenth seed Monfils takes on the next big star of Italian tennis twenty-third seed Berrettini, which is their first meeting on the ATP Tour, and it has the potential to be the match of the tournament so far.

Serena Williams seeded eight is still on track to break the women’s Grand Slam record of 24 by landing a seventh US Open title. She is through to the semi-finals and will face fifth seed Svitolina who is aiming to reach her first and well over-due first Slam final. The other women’s semi-final line-up will be known by tomorrow morning as Bencic and Vekic and Andreescu and Mertens contest their quarter-finals tonight and tomorrow morning.
