The Euro 2020 qualifier group matches for September came to an end last night and the action continues the tenth of next month. Last night Group A leaders England and second place minnows Kosovo put their group unbeaten records on the line and England just came out on top in a crazy match 5-3. World Cup winners France were in action in Group H along with joint group leaders Turkey and both won convincingly 3-0 against Andorra and 4-0 Moldova respectively, which leaves them joint top of their group.
Iceland missed the opportunity to go joint top with France and Turkey as they lost an entertaining six-goal thriller 2-4 away at fourth place Albania. Portugal recorded a valuable win in Group B away at group wiping boys Lithuania winning 5-1 and the evergreen Ronaldo continues to be an influential figure for the former Euro winners netting four of their five goals.
Domestic league football returns this weekend with Premier League and EFL action.
