We are not going to have any formal selections this week, with the European event lacking in depth quality and the event in America being wide open with the best player in the world, Koepka, a 9/1 favourite. As with all your betting, you do not have to bet every day or in sports, in every event. We will have much better opportunities throughout the season.

Jon Rahm is the defending champion and he is a general 3/1 shot to win again this week. The reason he is so short is the poor quality of the field with only really Sergio Garcia and Rafael Cabrera Bello who can be considered anywhere near his ability. Backing 3/1 favourites to win golf tournaments is not the way forward, unless it was Tiger in his pomp, especially as Rahm didn’t play that well last week. If you must get involved, I would much prefer to have a small each way interest in his fellow Spaniard RCB at around 12/1.

Bryson DeChambeau won last year from Patrick Cantlay and those two should be up there again this week. World No.1 Brooks Koepka is in the field and it will be interesting to see how he goes on his first start of the 2019/2020 campaign, as he was runner up here two years ago. This really is anyones tournament, so keep an eye on players who have already showed a little form since the "new season" started, and it would be no surprise to see our winner of two weeks ago, Joaquin Niemann, go well at 33/1.
